Lilly. My god. No word could describe how beautiful that sounds to my ears. I couldn't chose a sound to compare it too.  The girl grinned again.
"So Jake, right? What brings you out here?"
Crap. Uh. I spoke fast, but I stuttered faster.

"I, um, well ya see, my dad, he-"
As I spoke, Lilly began backing away from  me, back towards her blackberry bushes I guess, so I took a step forward to keep fair distance, -and to keep her sent as close to me as I could get. You know, without me exploding into a enormous monster. "He sent me out to get-"

Suddenly my shoe snagged on a plant root and I stumbled forward, into clump of thorn sharp berry bushes rushing up to meet my stupid idiot face.  Face down in those thick green branches, I did my best to keep my cool, but every god freaking thing was stuck to me. So there I was, wriggling around, with my butt facing Lilly. I swear to the ancestral spirits that if I turned and the seat of my jeans were torn, I was gonna go A.W.O.L on some forest later. Fucking nature!

Then I heard her laughing, and the thorns poking and scratching my  skin didn't feel so bad. Then she did something I truly didn't expect. A normal human wouldn't have been able to hear it, but I heard her slowly walk back towards me. She then laced one of her fingers through one of my belt loops, and pulled- hard. I was able to pull free, but to my dismay, my clumsiness made a fuck outta me, and I landed nearly right on top of Lilly. I braced my arms fast, and placed them quickly, so quick I was for once in my life GLAD I had super natural powers, (or are they natural powers? Huh..) for if I was just a regular teenage fuck up, I'd have  just crushed the girl of my dreams. Yippy-fucking hooray for being a freak!

Then almost as if heaven had decided to once more bitch slap me back to Earth, I heard the most amazing sound. It was soft, and yet hung in the air like mist on a soggy morning. Refreshing and pure. Lilly was giggling. Nearly uncontrollably. Her petite frame shook under me, and her beautiful raven hair settled perfectly around her shoulders. She was the udder picture of natural perfection. Her cheeks, her skin, her teeth, her lips which I yearned so greatly for...

Whoa? Whoa, whoa, hold up Jakey. You've known this girl for all of five minutes and you, you of all people want to recite freaking Shakespeare about her in your head. You're an idiot bro. A part of me said through all of that, I think I'll call it Dignity. Which I found to be the funniest thing ever. I didn't even know I had that part of me left.

For a brief second, as I placed my hands on the grass near the sides of her neck, I wondered if she could tell what I really was. It was in her eyes, reflected in that shade of dazzling blue, my  true self. A flash of fur, teeth and a dark wet nose.
And then the reflection leapt at me, and I couldn't find the means of stopping it.

My blood began to boil. Sweat started beating down my body. My arms began trembling. Unnoticeable at first, then faster, and faster. I hardened my face, like I had so many times before long ago, trying to stay calm, and at least keep Lilly in my view. I dug my nails into the grass as every single one of the muscles in my body tightened and caught on fire.  W-WHY NOW?! I JUST HAD TO CHANGE N-NOW! NO! I..won't!

I screamed at myself in my head, trying to find the beast in the darkness. I reached and yelled, but all that came back to me was my own selfish attempts of commanding my true form. My body was trying to turn me inside out! The flames burned up my insides as I clenched my teeth. I was beginning to lose the feel of my surroundings. I side glanced at my hands, and as it turns out, I had ripped the grass I was clutching straight from the ground. Roots and all. My stomach rolled and my head felt like it was going to explode. Pressure bit at every inch of my skin.
I was losing. I was losing! I'm going to hurt her! Please no! God dammit NO!
The wolf snarled in my head, and I knew right then I was done. I was just about to give in to it all, when I decided I'd try to warn Lilly. Tell her to run, and not stop running. Besides, she HAD to be noticing something through all of this.

But when I opened my stupid mouth, all that came out was a pitiful whining sound. Like a scared puppy. My god..I am so pathetic! I can't even freaking warn her! Puppy noises?! Come on! I was pretty sure by now that any Dignity I  had left was gone. I manage to squint open my left eye to see her. I had just had my entire world, nearly had her in my arms, and now I was about to lose her.
Fuck do I suck.

What the? Through all the pain my head, I thought I musta lost an eye ball or two, for as I looked down, all I saw was grass. Lilly was gone.  Though my eye quickly shut tight again, for I felt something cold on my face. It felt wonderful. I could nearly feel the coldness spreading from my face down my neck and into my spine. The fire was dying. I tried to speak out. More stupid freaking puppy whines.
What was happen-?

"Hey. Hey now- Jake. Jacob- look at me. Shhh, it's okay. You're alright. Look at me Jake!" It was a beautiful voice. Lilly's voice. Lilly was talking to me. She was still there! In the darkness of my mind, I could see. Everything was all so clear.
She was still here. She was still here. I kept telling myself that over and over. "It's okay. Can you hear me?"

And more so Lilly- Lilly was comforting me! And I had no idea how she was taming the beast inside of me, but she sure the hell was kicking it's ass! I could feel the ground beneath me again. I opened my eyes to see my master.

Her face was speckled in dirt, and a few blades of bright green grass suck in her dark hair, but other than that, she was fine. Perfect as before. She was safe. And further more, her slender hands were pressed against my cheeks. The coldness I felt. My body was just that hot that Lilly's natural body heat felt cool to me. Her blue eyes sparkled like the crystal lakes back at the reserve. Watching a thousand different shades of blue sloshing around her iris. I couldn't breathe. I could have stared at her forever. But her beautiful face seemed to come together in worry. She took her hands away all too soon, and helped me stand up.

Aw man..I  felt sore, sick, like I was just truly in a motorcycle crash, but as a normal human and my stomach was suddenly full of angry man-eating butterflies from her very touch, but I was in control. I was good. Lilly grasped my wrist with her small hand and pressed down lightly. Checkin' for my pulse I guess.
Then to my great delight her face became light and happy once more.

"Looks like you over guessed you're usage, Mr. Jacob Crash-test-dummy Black. That crash did more to you than you think. But I guess even dummies need repairing at some point."
She blushed the lightest blush I had ever seen, and I was sure I was blushing too.  Shit! I really want my long hair back now if I'm gonna be a freaking  blushing all over the place. But I doubt I looked very appealing, as I was covered with grass, dirt and probably sweat. And had blackberries sticking into me in all the wrong places, but I couldn't help smiling now. She was just so freakin' cute. It was ridiculous! But I loved her.

I loved Lilly, and it took all but one glance.

She let go of my wrist, and gracefully turned on her heel and motioned for me to follow. "It's really hot out, ya know? With the sun being, well, normal for once. And, I can get us cokes inside. And you can tell me more about just why the heck you're out here. So, please, come inside, if you wish."
She smirked slyly to avoid blushing again and began walking a small stone path overgrown with grass and stones.

I nearly yelled at the top of my lungs with relief. She was inviting me in for drinks! ME! The teenage freak of a boy who had just nearly seizured on top of her, and nearly crushed her to death, and nearly turned into a giant vampire slaying beast with razor sharp fangs and demon eyes. Score one for Jake! She had taken all of my freak symptoms for the motorcycle crash earlier.

I walked carefully behind her to avoid the whole Me-Tripping-And-Nearly-Crushing-The-Love-Of-My-Life-With-My-Big-Idiot-Body-And-Freaky-Werewolf-Powers- fiasco again.

"You know," Lilly said, still smirking, as we made her way back to her house, "That noise you made back there was kinda cute. Like a dog almost." She then raised her arm  and I felt something lightly punch me on the shoulder, which pathetically made me stumble sideways a bit, making my knees buckle. I wondered for a second if she would think it was bad thing to know that every move she makes around me makes me go weak. God damn imprinting, I love it though. I used to always have my guard up, always, but dammit, around Lilly I just can't do it.

But girls like the bad boy thing. No weaknesses. Right? Right..? Damn..
